OVERALL PRESENTATION
The Global Study on Participation and Consultation of Affected Populations in Humanitarian Action is a research project facilitated and promoted by the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance (ALNAP) and implemented by Groupe URD.
The aim of the Global Study is to help fill in gaps in our understanding and use of consultation and participatory mechanisms in humanitarian aid.
PHASE I
Phase I involved several stages, commencing with field studies which brought together a maximum of information on the issue. The field data, collected in five countries, provided the material for Country Monographs, one easy-to-use first version of a Practitioner Handbook.
PHASE II
Phase II will provide the opportunity to test the Practitioner Handbook in different field contexts and thus produce a final comprehensive document. At least one additional country monograph will be prepared covering refugee situations in greater detail.
A complete Overview report will be published in book format at the end of Phase II. It will provide a summary of all the knowledge accumulated during the Study.
